Tour Details

Day 01
Arrival Transfer / Colombo

Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, has a long history as a port on ancient east-west trade routes, ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. That heritage is reflected in its architecture, mixing colonial buildings with high-rises and shopping malls. 

Meet & greet at the Bandaranayke International Airport and proceed to a hotel at Colombo. 

Later start your Colombo City Tour. During the city tour you will visit Independent Square, Galle Face Green, World Trade Centers, Sri Lanka Old Parliament, Dutch Hospital, BMICH, Avkana Buddha, Town Hall and Viharamahadevi Park & later do some shopping at major shopping malls in Colombo.

Overnight stay at Colombo.

Day 02
Colombo / Dambulla

After breakfast depart to Dambulla & climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. 

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built by the young King Kasyapa in 5th century. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. Combining baffling architectural features and sensual artistic values, the Lion Rock is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .as well as nominated to be the eighth wonder of the world- along with the Grand Canyon and Ancient Pyramids.

The king’s fortress complex was build on the flat top of the rock formation, extending to almost an acre, and the extensive ruins are still visible. The central fortress takes the form of a lion figure with gigantic paws. In English, it translates to ‘Lion Rock’, alluding to the time when travelers could climb through the open throat, “giriya”, of a lion, “sinha”. Today, the only remains are the lion’s gigantic paws, sculpted into the side of a 600-foot-tall rock rising above lush, green jungle.

Next proceed to Minneriya National Park for a 2-3 hour jeep safari.

Later proceed to Dambulla for overnight stay.

Day 03
Dambulla / Kandy

After breakfast depart to Kandy. On the way visit Dambulla Cave Temple. 

Dambulla cave temple is another UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka.

Five separate caves contain about 150 absolutely stunning Buddha statues and paintings, some of Sri Lanka’s most important and evocative religious art. Sri Lanka has a long history of the presence and practice of Buddhism. The Dambulla cave temple represents one of the oldest sites for Buddhist monasticism, with a history as a pilgrimage site for twenty-two centuries. The massive cave temple complex is unique in Southeast Asia because monks carved the caves out from rock.

Continue the drive to Kandy. On the way visit Spice gardens in Matale. You will get knowledge about various plants and spices native to Sri Lanka. Next proceed to Kandy.

In the evening visit the Sacred Temple of Tooth Relic in Kandy and participate for evening Pooja Ceremony. Visit the museum inside the Temple of Tooth Relic.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple. 

Late in the evening watch cultural show with traditional Fireworks.

Day 04
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast you will drive towards Nuwara Eliya with a stop to visit Kandy view point & Gem Museum in Kandy.

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The city is the administrative capital of Nuwara Eliya District, with a picturesque landscape and temperate climate. It is at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka.

On the way you will visit tea plantations, a tea factory& water falls.

At the tea plantations & a tea factory you will get an opportunity to learn more about Ceylon Tea & see tea manufacturing process.

 While in your city tour at Nuwara Eliya you’ll visit Victoria Park. Victoria Park is a place to relax and enjoy the natural sights and clean mountain air.

In the evening leisure at Gregory Lake.

Day 05
Nuwara Eliya / Ella

After breakfast train Tour from Nanu Oya to Ella to see the most beautiful scenaries.

Ella is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province. It is approximately 200 kilometres (120 mi) east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 metres (3,415 ft) above sea level. The area has a rich bio-diversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Ella is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. The town has a cooler climate than surrounding lowlands, due to its elevation. The Ella Gap allows views across the southern plains of Sri Lanka.

While your tour in Ella you can see 9 Arch Bridge, Little Adams Peak & Rawana water fall.

Day 06
Ella / Yala

After breakfast depart for morning Jeep Safari Tour at Yala National Park.

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (Block 1), and Kumana National Park or ‘Yala East’ for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometres (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometres (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and, along with Wilpattu was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

Day 07
Yala / Bentota

After breakfast proceed to Bentota.

Bentota is a resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. Its long Bentota beach stretches north, where it becomes a sandy strip known as paradise island, parallel to Bentota lagoon. 

Here you will visit Mask making shops. Mask making is a popular tradition in Sri Lanka. Many Sri Lankan mask artisans ply their trade along the Western, South Western and Southern coasts of the island. Of these, the Ambalangoda area on the South Western coast of Sri Lanka is renowned for its talented artisans. 

After that you’ll visit Turtle Hatchery. The Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda beach is one of 18 turtle hatcheries along the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The centre is located in the South Western coastal village of Kosgoda and was establised in 1981. It is also very popular as all five species of turtles that visit Sri Lanka nest in Kosgoda. This is not so with many of the other hatcheries around the island whose beaches host only some of the species.

Then you can join to a Madu river boat safari. A mangrove lagoon joined to the sea by a narrow canal and containing 15 islands of varying size, some of which are inhabited. It is formed of two shallow waterbodies, Maduganga and smaller Randombe Lake, connected by two narrow channels. On the islands and shores relatively undisturbed mangrove vegetation contains a rich biodiversity qualifying the wetland for 7 Criteria of International Importance. Many globally/nationally endangered, endemic and rare.

Beach stay & watersports (surfing, Jet-ski, wakeboarding, body boarding, banana ride, tube ride, snorkeling, diving).

Overnight stay at Bentota.

Day 08
Bentota / Departure Transfers

After breakfast proceed to Bandaranayke International airport via Southern Expressway to take the departure flight.
